AgRP Improv

40”w x 60”h Archival Prints

ArGP improv is a collaboration between an artist, composer, and neuroscientist to create visual and sonic realizations from ultrasonic sound files.  The collaboration is based on sonic and visual interpretations from the scientific paper Functional Ontogeny of Hypothalamic AgRP Neurons in Neonatal Mouse Behaviors (First Author: Marcelo R. Zimmer, Corresponding Author: Marcelo O. Deitrich) published in CELL magazine.

The project questions how resolution can exist in a form that is outside of human hearing? What would this look like? These were some of the quetions that were addressed in the series of sonic and visual experiemts explored by the collaborative team.

Collaborators: Marcelo Deitrich and Matthew Suttor
