In the Homologies series, visual artifacts are created as vehicles of communication for the latent spaces of animal movement. This digital print was created in collaboration with movement ecologist Diego Ellis-Soto and composer Matthew Suttor, using the sonification and data files from the Collective Pulse collaboration. Movement from hundreds of termites in a petri dish was captured and recalibrated to a liner tendon-like structure, expressing the speed (grayscale) and direction (x and y axis) of the collective movement; an alternative way of viewing the activity in a very animated petri dish.
